How it works

How does hannahHR answer employee questions?

hannahHR uses RAG (Retrieval Augmented Generation) technology, which means she pulls information exclusively from documents you've uploaded—your employee handbook, policies, and relevant provincial Employment Standards Acts. She doesn't search the broader internet or make up answers. If information isn't in your uploaded documents or the relevant employment standards, she'll escalate to your designated point person.

What happens if hannahHR doesn't know the answer?

hannahHR is trained with specific guardrails about what she can and cannot answer. If an answer isn't readily available in your handbook, SOPs, or the local Employment Standards Act, she'll explain that she cannot answer that particular question and indicate the appropriate point of contact for more information. This ensures employees always get directed to the right resource.

Can hannahHR answer questions in French?

Currently, hannahHR works in English-first provinces across Canada. We're actively working on Quebec support and bilingual capabilities. If you need French-language support, reach out to us at hello@hannahhr.com and we can discuss your timeline.

What if hannahHR gives an incorrect answer?

Sometimes, hannahHR can misunderstand the question and retrieve the wrong information! If hannahHR responds incorrectly, we ask that you send us a screenshot of the incorrect answer through our support channels. We'll investigate immediately and ensure this type of error doesn't happen again. Our system learns and improves based on your feedback.

How long does it take to set up hannahHR?

Setup is straightforward and typically takes less than an hour depending on the size of your organization. You upload your employee handbook and company policies, tag employees by province and contract type, and hannahHR handles the rest. We'll guide you through onboarding to make sure everything is configured correctly for your business.

What documents do I need to upload to hannahHR?

At minimum, you'll need your employee handbook or HR policy documentation. hannahHR also integrates information from the relevant provincial Employment Standards Acts based on where your employees work. The more comprehensive your uploaded policies, the better hannahHR can support your team.

Do I need separate instances for multiple locations?

No. You can administer all employees within your organization in the same dashboard, regardless of working location. If employees are in different provinces, their province will be indicated in their information, and hannahHR will reference the correct provincial employment standards for each employee. You can have full-time and part-time employees across multiple locations in one place.

Can I use hannahHR if I have employees in multiple provinces?

Absolutely. hannahHR works in every English-first province in Canada. Just tag your employees for their specific provinces and contract types in your dashboard, and hannahHR will provide answers based on the correct provincial Employment Standards Act for each employee.
